About Blank Forces
My career as a designer has really been a labor of love. Even at a young age, I always loved drawing, creating, and making things, including furniture, handmade knives, and even taxidermy. I'm incredibly fortunate to love what I do.
In whatever I do, my work ethic has always been to make things happen... no matter what it takes. That is why I appreciate the quote from Hannibal above because it leaves no room for excuses.

I’ve always loved that quote. With every project I work on, I've always been determined to make it the best it can be. My name is Kevin Hayes, and I'm a product designer and maker, based in Santa Monica, California. I've been fortunate to have worked with some of the best designers and engineers at some of the largest companies in the world. I enjoy designing a very broad range of projects, including sporting goods, consumer electronics, toys, lighting, audio & home theater products, to name a few. BLANK FORCES
BLANK FORCES® was created as an outlet for some of my creative experiments, and with the exciting launch of EDC Ink™ (a pen that I originally created for my own needs) on Kickstarter, I have been overwhelmed by the phenomenal response and enthusiasm.
I have to say that designing and making a few of something is much different than manufacturing thousands of them. The EDC Ink project has been a great learning experience, it has forced me to grow in many ways. From being responsible to deliver a perfect product to over 1500 people all at once, to personally putting myself out there. I have to thank my family, friends, and all of the Kickstarter backers for their support, input, and great comments, which have made this project fun, and made it a reality.
