The KEYCHAIN version utilizes the Patent Pending auto-locking feature, the pen automatically locks closed and stays closed until you need it.  The KEYCHAIN version also comes with an integrated small split ring attachment. When needed the pen can easily be unscrewed from the split ring attachment for use. The Perfect compact size so you can always be ready.
